Gold Jewellery Care Guide
How to care for your gold jewellery
Luisa Luxe pieces are designed to go wherever life takes you — from salty swims to sweaty gyms. While our waterproof jewellery is made to be low-maintenance, a little care goes a long way in keeping your gold jewellery and pearl jewellery looking radiant for years to come.
Waterproof Gold Jewellery
Made for everyday wear
Thanks to our durable 18k gold-plated stainless steel, all Luisa Luxe jewellery is tarnish-resistant and safe for daily wear — yes, even in water! You can confidently wear your favourite gold earrings, rings, and chains while swimming, sweating, or showering.

Gentle Cleaning
To refresh your jewellery, simply wipe it down with a soft cloth. For a deeper clean, use warm water and mild soap, then pat dry. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, and rough materials that could affect the gold finish or damage delicate details.
Storing your Gold Jewellery
Store your pieces in a clean, dry place — ideally in a jewellery box or pouch to prevent scratches and tangles. Keeping them separate will protect your finer chains and pearls. We have beautiful travel-sized jewellery boxes available for purchase.
Caring for Pearls
Our pearl jewellery is made with natural freshwater pearls, so it's important to treat them with extra care. Avoid perfumes, lotions, and hairspray directly on your pearls, and always wipe them gently with a soft cloth after wear to remove any residue.

More Care Information
Scratches and plating rubbing off over time is a natural occurrence of wear and is not covered under warranty. Use your discretion when wearing as repetitive tasks or movement can result in gold plating rubbing off faster in one spot on the jewellery, especially rings, and this is not considered a fault. Some gold jewellery pieces will hold their plating longer than others, for example dainty ring bands may have a shorter life than thick signet rings due to the fineness of the band and thickness of the plating layer. Consider this when choosing which gold jewellery to wear daily.
Please remember that all gold jewellery colouring, including 9k and 14k gold, will naturally start to oxidise over time, sometimes causing a green residue on skin or on jewellery and this is out of our control. Make sure to clean your gold jewellery regularly to avoid this.
Even if it is made of materials suitable for daily wear. Dependent on lifestyle or activity, some pieces like flower pearls, thin chains or ring bands, tennis bracelets or stones in rings may be delicate or fragile and should not be worn daily or overnight to prevent damage.
If damaged or unsecure, cease wear of the jewellery and contact us immediately. Do not wear until you can repair or replace the jewellery. All warranty claims require photographs of the specific gold jewellery piece that shows your concern. Please understand that warranty claims will not be considered without photographs of jewellery. Lost jewellery will not be replaced or refunded even if under warranty. You can expect your gold jewellery to last up to 6-12 months or even longer, depending on but not limited to how often the piece is worn and how you care for it.
This is not covered under warranty as this is not a fault in the jewellery and may require slight regular adjustment over time to keep them secure. Please access our social media to see how to adjust them to return to their original state.
